About the Huskies
Founded in 2004, the Empire State Huskies have grown into one of the most well-established and fastest-growing youth softball programs on the East Coast. Headquartered in East Fishkill, NY, the Huskies are a year-round travel and training program, competing up and down the coast and as far west as Colorado.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we're dedicated to developing student-athletes, preparing them for college ball while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Our Promise
Our coaches will help players reach their highest potential by providing knowledgeable instruction to develop individual player skills and understanding of the game. We promise to give players the best opportunities to compete at the highest level and to provide assistance and guidance throughout the college recruiting process.

For more than 17 years, Coach John has shaped the Empire State Huskies into one of the nation's most respected softball programs. His eye for the game is unmatched: he sees what an athlete can become before she sees it herself, then gives her the coaching, the confidence, and the roadmap to get there. As Head Coach of the Huskies' National and Premier teams and the program's Recruiting Coordinator, he has built championship team after championship team and sent players on to compete at every level of college softball.
His philosophy is simple and relentless: always winning, always raising the bar. The standard rises with every practice, every tournament, every season, and every athlete leaves the program better than when she arrived.

Huskies founder since 2004, bringing 22+ years of national-level fire and strategy to every player he coaches.
Coach Joe is a cornerstone of the Huskies organization, leading with fire, strategy, and a commitment to player development at every level, and preparing every athlete for tournaments, showcases, college, and beyond in both skill and mentality. Coaching at the national level, he has taken teams to compete at some of the largest events in the country, including PGF Nationals, Alliance Nationals, CO Sparkler, ATL Legacy, East Coast, and TNJ. He founded the Huskies in 2002 and has been with the program for over 23 years as National Program Coach & Coordinator, Hitting Instructor, and Board Member; his daughter Larissa was an OG Huskie. Coach Rick is an indispensable part of the Huskies family, bringing leadership, energy, and a passion for softball to every team and training session. He is constantly growing the Huskies program in both overall vision and player development, thriving in the small details and challenging players to become the best versions of themselves, with a particular passion for position-specific training. He has been with the Empire State Huskies for over 18 years as National Program Coach, Board Member, and Training & Development lead at the national and regional level; his daughter Cassidy played for the Huskies and now actively assists with mental health training. Olympic player for Puerto Rico turned Huskies pitching guru, shaping arms and mindsets on and off the mound.
Coach Penny isn't just a coach, she's a powerhouse of passion, grit, and softball expertise who knows how to pull the best out of you, on and off the field. With roots in travel, collegiate, and international softball, including a college playing career at Rutgers, she offers high-level pitching instruction, skills training, recruiting, motivation techniques, and mindset & mentality coaching. A 1996 Olympian who played for Puerto Rico, she has been with the Empire State Huskies for over 7 years, serving as National Program Coach, Board Member, National Recruiting lead, and Pitching Instructor.
